Today we went to Beaumont for our NT (Nuchal Translucency) Scan. This is a genetic screening test that determines your pregnancy's risk for Down syndrome, spina bifida and other birth defects. It consists of an ultrasound and blood work between weeks 11 and 13 and another blood test between weeks 15 and 20. We won't know the results until after the second blood test, but we're happy to report that the nuchal thickness of Baby Sheena was .9mm! An abornal result would be anything >3mm.
It was the longest ultrasound we've had so far, so we got to watch baby for a long time! It is amazing how big it's gotten in just 3 weeks! As you can see in the ultrasound pictures, it looks like a real baby now. And it was wiggling all around which was so neat. It was moving its feet and hands all over the place. I posted some great pictures we got! The last one is Baby Sheena waving to everybody!
